However, this does not mean that we do not also appreciate traditional food. It is our concern to care especially for our roots. A juicy roast or a delicate “Kalbsbeuschl” can be discovered on our menus of the day again and again.

Once upon a time, to be exact in 1893, the “Batzenhäusl” took part at the opening of the Tyrolean country exhibition and her excellence count Brandi honored it with the first price.

The hunting villa, an architectural jewel, is still completely visible. Cosy pine rooms delicately carved to detail were manufactured by the art joiner “Kolli”. The wood inlays in the rooms, the pokerworks as well as the little belltower also contribute to the tasteful atmosphere.
A prosperous South American was so impressed when seeing the house, that he bought the building plans in order to reconstruct the same house 1:1 in Brazil.
After the country exhibition the house was taken down and built up in Igls again. Since this time it is open for the general public as a hotel. The original part of the house has remained the same to this day. Among other things the old “Stuben” on the ground and first floor have remained the same and impress many visitors.
